ShoreBreak is a forecast app for surfers, skimboarders, and beach-goers. It shows tide windows, swell direction, wind, and spot conditions for coastal locations. The app is built with your privacy in mind: forecast data is fetched from public marine data sources, and your preferences stay on your device.
ShoreBreak stores the following data locally on your device only:
This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to Maxola Labs or any third party.
ShoreBreak may request your location to show forecasts for the nearest spot. Location is used in-session only — it is never stored, logged, or transmitted to any third party. You may use ShoreBreak fully without granting location access by manually selecting spots.
ShoreBreak retrieves wave, wind, and tide data from public marine forecast services (such as NOAA and equivalent open data providers). When the app fetches a forecast, only the spot identifier is sent — no personal information, device identifier, or account information is included in these requests.
ShoreBreak offers optional Sign in with Apple for syncing favorite spots and preferences across devices. If you choose to use Sign in with Apple, Apple manages your authentication. Maxola Labs receives only the minimal identifier Apple provides and does not receive your email address unless you choose to share it. You may use ShoreBreak fully without signing in.
ShoreBreak contains no advertising networks, no third-party analytics SDKs, and no behavioral tracking. There are no ads in the app.
The app is built entirely with Apple's native frameworks. No third-party code is included.
ShoreBreak is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. No personal data is collected by the app regardless of user age.
